Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data AlbumsBridge ("the Software") and https://albumsbridge.com (the "Site") collect, why, and how it's handled. We built AlbumsBridge to work locally on your PC, and we've kept data collection to the minimum needed to run the trial, license, and update-check features.

1. Your Photos and Videos

AlbumsBridge transfers photo albums directly from your iPhone/iPad to your PC over a local USB connection. We never receive, upload, view, or store your photos, videos, or album contents. All of that data stays on your device and your own PC.

2. Data We Do Collect

a) License and trial data

To enforce the free trial and paid license, AlbumsBridge stores the following locally on your PC only:

  • A trial start date and a cryptographic signature of it (in %APPDATA%\AlbumsBridge\trial.json and a matching Windows Registry key), used to detect if the trial period has been tampered with.
  • A count of albums downloaded during the trial.
  • If you purchase a license: your license key, an activation instance ID, your email address (as provided at purchase), and license expiration date, stored in %APPDATA%\AlbumsBridge\license.json.

None of this is transmitted to us. It is read/written only on your own machine, with two exceptions below.

b) License activation/validation (Lemon Squeezy)

When you activate or validate a paid license, the Software sends your license key, your PC's hostname, and an instance ID to Lemon Squeezy's API (api.lemonsqueezy.com) over HTTPS, so Lemon Squeezy can confirm the license is valid and tied to your device. This exchange is governed by Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy, as they act as our payment processor and merchant of record.

c) Update checks

On startup, the Software makes an HTTPS request to albumsbridge.com/version.json to check whether a newer version is available. This request does not include your license key, email, or any personal information — it is a simple version check.

d) Purchase information

If you buy a license, your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) are collected and processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy at checkout. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive only your email address and order/license information from Lemon Squeezy in order to fulfill your license.

3. What We Don't Do

  • We do not run analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs in the Software.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
  • We do not access your device's contacts, messages, location, or any data other than the photo albums you explicitly choose to transfer.

4. Data Retention

License and trial data remain on your PC until you uninstall the Software or manually delete the files described in Section 2(a). If you deactivate your license (via the app), we (through Lemon Squeezy) release the associated device activation.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., under GDPR or similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you (primarily your email address and license status, held via Lemon Squeezy). To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@albumsbridge.com, or contact Lemon Squeezy directly regarding payment/billing data.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date on this page.
